Originally built in 1910 to serve as a warehouse and distribution point for UK glass manufacturing firm, Pilkington Brothers, the building was converted into condos in the early 90’s.
Is this the most unique, badass loft building in gastown? Yes. Is it nearly impossible to acquire one of these unicorns? Also yes. There are only 6 units total in this self-managed strata, and rarely come on market. Homes are all sprawling 2600sqft 2 & 3 beds that occupy the entire length of the building, 25 foot wide and 120 feet long. Raw concrete floors and pillars, wood plank ceilings, exposed brick, exposed pipes and windows that run front to back. Tandem parking stalls. Zoned for work/live. Roof done in 2011.
